Collection: Tiera Leslie

In her latest series of subtle geometric paintings, Tiera Leslie intermingles references to modernist painters such as Mondrian, Robert, and Sonia Delaunay, Josef Albers, Sol Lewitt, coloration explored thru Wassily Kandinsky younger works and, decorative arts, motifs, textiles, and folk art.

Having long used abstract of primary shapes triangles, rectangles, and circles to construct fanciful coloration to populate scenes, Leslie has only recently begun to reassemble her shapes into stylized still lifes and human forms.

A new suite of twelve new paintings (all 2020) will be presented for the first time at Fiftysix45 featuring Cubist-style female figures, musical instruments, domestic objects and circus props depicted in rooms whose colorfully patterned décors variously recall Mondrian paintings, Bauhaus designs, and Arabic textiles.
