Collection: Johnny Holmes

The notion of clear shapes and lines is purposely disrupted as much as possible and continuous discoveries info Johnny's artistic flow. His influences are from the who's who list of modern abstract art.

His simple pallet of colors is a nod to the abstract expressionist like Franz Kline, Jackson Pollock, Willem De Kooning as well as the ink masters in Japanese printmakers and calligraphers.  His strokes and application of medium on canvas leaves room for the imagination to wander. Much like a cello, compositions can carry you into a symphony alone or pair with one's own thoughts to create images out of mystery.
